Planet Scuba - LAKE OPEN WATER DIVES
During the spring (once the lake melts) to fall (until the lake freezes) we do our Open Water dives on Sundays. This year (2011) we'll be planning on going to the lake EVERY SECOND SUNDAY. We will no longer be going to Lovering Lake, as the lake conditions have deteriorated. Our plan is to do our SK open water dives in Long Lake/Last Mountain Lake at Fox Point. We are able to do our specialty dives at this location as well! If you would like to join us for one of the Open Water dives, please do the following:
1. Check schedule for Open Water dives for the month. They will be under What's New/Month-Pool and Open Water Sessions.
2. Call and/or come in and let us know that you plan on attending.
3. If you are completing your course, have all your classroom work and required pool dives done before Sunday.
4. Be at Planet Scuba at 9am to gear up. We will be gone until early to late afternoon depending on who is coming. Plan to be back by 4pm (although we may be back earlier). Again, depending on who is coming you can come with us or take your own vehicle. It is about an hour drive.
July 2011 Open Water Lake Dives
We will be planning on going to Lovering Lake EVERY Sunday in July (July 10, 17, 24).
IF you need to get open water dives done…the EARLIER THE BETTER (Most likely we will start doing open water dives in June). Please call and let us know when you plan on coming and note that if the weather changes (end of summer/start of fall) you may not be able to complete your open water dives in SK. We do referral courses (you can finish your course with another PADI instructor on an already planned vacation) and take people on tropical vacations throughout the winter months in order for people to complete courses or just to get them diving!
IF you have not done any diving with us before, we would like to have you join us for a pool session before you join us for any open water dives. Also, any personal equipment that you bring to the pool that has not been purchased through the shop MUST be inspected before you use it in the pool.
Due to recent changes in liability insurance coverage regulations, effective immediately, there will be no life support equipment (BCD, Reg’s, etc.) allowed at our pool sessions that have not been serviced by current manufacturer trained service technicians within the last 12 months.
(Planet Scuba can provide this service for most brands of BCD, Regulators, etc.)
Tank Rental if you join us for the lake is $15, see Rental Prices under Products if you need to rent other gear for the lake
